Tokyo in April- a Symphony of Flavour

I fell in love with Tokyo in April upon my very first visit. The new and authentic Japanese restaurant is one of the city’s best kept secrets. Long time friend’s and collaborators created the restaurant built on an affinity for Japanese food served in an intimate environment. They have certainly achieved that with a small menu offering a diverse range of Japanese cuisine, at an affordable price no less.

The staff are notably thoughtful, it feels almost as if you are walking into a family’s home for a celebratory dinner upon entering. Their sake selection is currently impressive but the owners plan to build the space into a fully fleshed sake bar with a boutique menu. For now, Vancouver has access to what feels like fine dining in a fantastic atmosphere with food that tastes like edible poetry. Although the sushi is wonderful, it doesn’t dominate the menu - showcasing the range of Japanese cuisine.

Tokyo in April is located at 526 Abbot Street, hey are open for dine in and take out.
